Opuwo Country Hotel

The magnificent Opuwo is known to be the gateway to the beautiful Kaokoveld region found in the fabulous northwestern part of the much loved Namibia. The Himba people live in the remote area on the south side of the Kunene river and have kept to their culture and ethnic individuality in the shelter of the Kaokoland. The Opuwo Country Hotel had its doors opened by Hifikipunyy Pohamba, His Excellency on 25 August 2005.

Opuwo Country Hotel provides its guests with comfortable luxurious accommodation. All of the 28 luxury rooms and 12 standard rooms have air conditioning and you can enjoy the views of the mountains and valleys. The rooms are also equipped with mosquito nets, giving you a good nights rest.

Opuwo Country Hotel serves scrumptious meals in the dining room and guests can enjoy pre-dinner refreshments in the cozy bar. There are 15 lovely campsites for the outdoor enthusiasts who prefer to be close to nature.

There are many fantastic self-drive excursions that go to Kaoko, Swartbooisdrift (Kunene), Epupa Fulls, Otavi and other places of interest. Guided tours are available to the authentic Himba village for guests who would prefer to have company. Relax in the cool waters of the crystal clear swimming pool or sit back on one of the recliners and enjoy the sun.
