The Protea Hotel Zambezi River Lodge consists of 27 en-suite rooms all cottage style of which 13 are twin rooms with an en-suite bathroom(shower only), 2 are single rooms with en-suite bathroom(bath only), 8 are double rooms with en-suite bathrooms(shower only) and 4 are family rooms with en-suites bathrooms(bath and shower). These lovely rooms overlook either the garden or the pool area and are equipped with coffee/tea making facilities, a lounge/sitting area, a TV, direct-dial telephone, a writing desk and a hairdryer. For the non-smoking guests there are non-smoking rooms available.
The Protea Hotel Zambezi River Lodge offers two conference facilities where you can seat 100 delegates in cinema style or 30 delegates schoolroom style and you will be supplied with standard equipment. For your dining pleasure the Parrots Inn Restaurant offers a scrumptious breakfast and light lunches. The Terrace serves delicious dinners from 19h00 onwards daily. For great sundowners and refreshments the Parrots Inn Bar is open daily during the day and the Floating Bar will be open from 16h00 until 19h00, unfortunately during the April/May period the bar might be closed due to the strong flow of the river. There is yet another bar available which is open daily from 17h00.
You can relax at the sparkling swimming pool on those hot days or take a relaxing boat cruise on the Zambezi River where you can find hippos and crocodiles. For a true African feel you can enjoy a walk through the town of Katima Mulilo with its African crafts, baskets, jewelery and musical instruments. Mudumu, Mamili and Caprivi are game parks in the area where you can enjoy game drives and being outdoors among the wild. A drive to the Victoria Falls can be visited on request or the Chobe National Park.
