Namibia is a dreamscape, a land of swirling orange-red dunes, shimmering saline flats, mirages dancing across infinite open spaces, abounding wildlife, and a fascinating diversity of people.
Explore the Etosha Region of Namibia dominated by a massive mineral pan which is dry most part of the year but springs to life in the raining season, drawing large concentrations of wild and birdlife. Landscapes range from dense brush and open plains, to woodland savannah and lush vegetation, creating wonderful opportunity for game viewing, walking and hiking, and to experience a true African safari by tracking game or learning about medicinal plants.
The main attraction of the Etosha Region is undoubtedly the Etosha National Park, teeming with an exceptional range and abundance of wildlife and a landscape that could not provide a more striking backdrop for it. The temporary water attracts thousands of wading birds including large flocks of gracious flamingos. Visitors can reside at the many private lodges and hotels in the vicinity of the park and at a selection of self-catering accommodation within the park. Campsites within the park are ideal for resting, recreation and re-fuelling before taking a trip to view the game at the floodlit water-holes.
Almost all of Africa's animal species are represented in the park which includes many buck species, elephant, giraffe, zebra, rhino and lions. The water-holes become an open-air theatre with casts of animals and birds vying for a place in the spotlight quenching their thirst after a long arid season. This is a dream destination for wildlife photographers to capture the animals encased in an almost dreamlike vision of mirages. The Etosha Region is mesmerizing, a place which will awaken a newfound spirit and passion for life in all so fortunate to experience its beauty.
